Mao Zedong & Chiang Kai Shek - The Battle for China

Mao Zedong and Chiang Kai-shek were the leaders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the Kuomintang (KMT), respectively. They fought a bitter civil war for control of China from 1927 to 1949. Mao's communist forces emerged victorious and established the People's Republic of China, while Chiang and his KMT government retreated to Taiwan.
