The outer gas giants, Uranus and Neptune, are so distant that they are difficult to reach, with Uranus being 20 times further from the sun than Earth and Neptune being 30 times further. Both planets have only been seen at close range by NASA's Voyager 2 spacecraft, which provided the only close-up images of these remote worlds.
