The Exodus Decoded
The biblical account of the exodus, a foundational narrative for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, is examined through the lens of modern archaeology and geology. Filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici investigates whether the plagues and the parting of the Red Sea, traditionally viewed as historical fact, can be explained by natural phenomena. By analyzing ancient artifacts, such as the Ahmose Stele and the Ipuwer Papyrus, and considering the catastrophic eruption of the Santorini volcano, the film explores the possibility that these events were not merely miraculous, but grounded in tangible, verifiable occurrences that shaped the history of the ancient world.
