Chadar: The Ice Trail
In the remote, high-altitude region of Zanskar, India, the harsh winter transforms the Zanskar River into a frozen, treacherous path known as the Chadar. For the local Zanskari people, this icy corridor is the only way to connect their isolated, snow-bound kingdom to the outside world. The film follows a group of local men who, driven by the need to earn money for their families, undertake the perilous journey across the frozen river to transport timber for a school. As they navigate the fragile, shifting ice and face the constant threat of freezing temperatures and avalanches, they rely on their deep-rooted traditions, mutual support, and the guidance of their community to survive the unforgiving landscape.
