
In the wake of the 2014 conflict in Gaza, the radical Islamist group Hamas and the extremist organization ISIS have both sought to establish their own versions of Islamic rule. While Hamas focuses on a localized struggle against Israel, ISIS pursues a global, apocalyptic vision that transcends borders. Both groups employ brutal tactics, including the execution of perceived collaborators and the targeting of religious minorities, while simultaneously attempting to control the narrative through propaganda and the intimidation of journalists. As these groups continue to exert their influence, the local populations, including Christian communities in Iraq, find themselves caught in the crossfire of these competing ideologies.
