In the late 1980s, two young men from East Germany attempted to escape their country by traveling to Bulgaria and crossing the border into Turkey. Their journey was fraught with danger, as they were under constant surveillance by the East German Ministry for State Security. After being caught and interrogated, they were sent back to East Germany and put on trial. Decades later, one of the men returns to the border to meet the man who arrested him, reflecting on the past and the changing political landscape of Europe.
