In October 1991, a massive, unprecedented weather system known as the Perfect Storm converges on the North Atlantic, creating a life-or-death struggle for the crew of the fishing vessel Andrea Gail. As the storm intensifies, the United States Coast Guard and the Air National Guard launch a desperate, high-stakes rescue mission to save the crew of a stranded sailboat, facing 80-mile-per-hour winds and 50-foot waves. The mission pushes the limits of human endurance and technical capability, as the rescuers themselves become trapped in the heart of the storm, forcing them to make split-second decisions that could mean the difference between life and death.
