Industrial food production is a major driver of deforestation, water depletion, and biodiversity loss. The meat industry alone is responsible for nearly half of all greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture, and the production of animal feed contributes to deforestation in the Amazon rainforest. The fishing industry is also unsustainable, with overfishing leading to the collapse of fish populations and damage to marine ecosystems. Our current food system is unsustainable and poses a threat to the planet's ecosystem.
