In the late 1980s, the United States military launched a covert operation to capture the Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega, who had been indicted on drug trafficking and money laundering charges. As tensions between the two nations escalated, a team of elite Navy SEALs was tasked with a high-stakes mission to destroy Noriega's escape boat, the Presidente Porras, before the full-scale invasion of Panama began. The mission, codenamed Operation Just Cause, required the SEALs to navigate treacherous waters and execute a precise underwater demolition, all while avoiding detection by the Panamanian Defense Forces. The operation was a critical component of the broader U.S. effort to remove Noriega from power and restore democratic governance to Panama.
