In 1924, a man named Charles Manier and his partner Thomas Bent unearthed a collection of over 30 lead artifacts in the Arizona desert. These objects, which include crosses and swords, are inscribed with Latin and date back to 800 AD. Forensic geologist Scott Wolter investigates the authenticity of these relics, using geological analysis to determine if they are genuine or a modern hoax. The investigation takes him to the site where the artifacts were found, where he examines the caliche, a type of sedimentary rock deposit, to see if it matches the deposits on the artifacts. Wolter also explores the possibility that the artifacts are connected to the Knights Templar, a religious order that used the Cross of Lorraine as a symbol.
