About
Factual Docs is a free documentary streaming platform that aggregates documentaries from more than a dozen legit YouTube sources that most of the time harbor documentary content with substantial quality. At least we like to think so. This app is largely automated, meaning it periodically scans those sources and updates its library with newly uploaded documentaries that satisfy all of the following criteria:
- The video is public.
- The video is NOT age-restricted.
- The video is embeddable.
- The video is NOT region-restricted.
- The video's title and/or description are in English.
- The video is NOT an ongoing or scheduled broadcast.
- The video is more than 30 minutes long.
From time to time we manually add documentaries but they too have to adhere to the same criteria. At the same time the app periodically removes documentaries that become invalid (they don't satisfy the criteria anymore) or they have been completely removed from YouTube.
The site uses secure authentication so you can sign in via Google, GitHub, or LinkedIn to like and save the documentaries you fancy. When you sign in - for example via your Google account - Factual Docs requests access to your basic profile data - such as your email address and name - for the sole purpose of verifying your identity, creating your account, and securely syncing your saved preferences. You can find out more about this process at our privacy policy page.
We hope you like what we've done with the place. If you have a feedback, question, or a request you can send us an email. Cheers.
