In the wake of the 1979 Iranian Revolution, six American embassy staff members find themselves trapped in Tehran, facing the terrifying prospect of being taken hostage. With the world unaware of their plight, a daring CIA escape agent named Tony Mendez is tasked with a seemingly impossible mission: to extract them from the country. Mendez devises an audacious plan, posing as a Hollywood film crew scouting locations in Iran, and must navigate a web of deception and danger to bring the Americans home safely, in a race against time where the slightest mistake could cost them their lives.
