In the arid landscapes of Mali and Niger, the Dogon and Wodaabe people maintain ancient traditions amidst the encroaching influence of modern Islam. The Dogon, once spiritual guides, face a fading legacy as their younger generations embrace new faiths, while the Wodaabe gather annually in the desert for the Cure Salee, a vibrant three-day celebration of dance and courtship. Through the lens of a photographer seeking to capture these vanishing cultures, the film explores the delicate balance between preserving ancestral heritage and the inevitable pressures of a changing world.
