Cerro Rico: The Rich Mountain
High in the Bolivian Andes, the mountain of Cerro Rico looms over the city of Potosi, a place where thousands of miners risk their lives daily in the pursuit of silver. These men, often working in dangerous, poorly ventilated tunnels, face the constant threat of accidents and the long-term health consequences of inhaling silica dust. Despite the harsh realities of their labor, they find solace in their community, their shared dreams of a better life, and their devotion to Tio, the devil of the mines, whom they believe watches over them and helps them find new veins of ore.
