In 1972, Israel's Mossad embarked on one of its deadliest missions: the assassination of Yasser Arafat's deputy, Khalil Al-Wazir. Known as Operation Wrath of God, the mission was a meticulously planned retaliation for the Munich Olympic massacre, where Palestinian terrorists killed 11 Israeli athletes. The execution team, led by Mike Harari, meticulously gathered intelligence and infiltrated Lebanon, where Al-Wazir resided. On April 16, they stormed his apartment in Beirut, killing him and seven others in a fierce firefight. The operation, while successful in eliminating a key Palestinian figure, came at a high cost, with two Israeli agents killed and the capture of the Mossad's deputy commander.
