In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, a growing number of middle-class American families have been forced out of their homes and into a precarious existence living in cars and cheap motels. This documentary follows the lives of several such families, including a former customer service manager and a father of six, as they navigate the daily challenges of homelessness, unemployment, and the struggle to maintain a sense of normalcy for their children. Through their stories, the film sheds light on the hidden reality of the American Dream in decline, where the safety net for the poor is increasingly frayed and the promise of stability is no longer guaranteed.
